Before the days of TV and streaming services, radio was one of the world’s main sources of entertainment. Families gather around the radio to hear the news, and what we now call “Old Time Radio Shows”. These dramas, mysteries, and comedies were brought to life live on the radio with voice actors and Foley Artists.
Daly House Museum has partnered with the Assiniboine Theatre Company to recreate the old time radio shows the way they were originally performed back in the 40s and 50s. Assiniboine Theatre Company members Debra Mason and Anne Brolund will perform Elevator a one act play about two women meeting in an apartment building elevator and deciding to turn it into a Koffee and Kocktail Korner. The company will also debut an original scripted radio show written by Assiniboine Theatre Company member George Baker.
Once again, attendees at the event will enjoy a delicious roast beef and perogy dinner prepared by the Ukrainian Reading Hall Association, door prizes, and more.
Funds from the event will go to support Daly House and the Victorian Garden as we celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the museum’s opening.
