Join us Saturday May 10, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Ukrainian Reading Hall for a wonderful night of food, drinks and hilarity with a performace of the farce “Drinking Habits”
Accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild in “Drinking Habits”, a traditional, laugh-out-loud farce. Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent’s doors open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancees, are hot on their trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest, but their presence, combined with the addition of a new nun, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect with lost loves.
Daly House Museum has partnered with the Exit Stage Left from Carberry, Manitoba to bring this laugh-out-loud farce by playwrite Tom Smith to Brandon in time for Mother’s Day. The Exit Stage Left performers will perform the play with live sound effects on the stage at the Ukrainian Reading Hall as part of a fundraising dinner and live theatre night to raise critically-needed funds to support the Daly House Museum and Garden as we continue to preserve our local heritage!
